Recycling

Whether we are installing your new appliances or simply just delivering them, Lunts Domestics offer a full removal and recycle service.

Why Recycle?

Did you know that you can recycle your old appliances for free at your local recycling centre?

Unwanted electrical equipment is the UK’s fastest growing type of waste. Many electrical items can be repaired or recycled, saving natural resources and the environment. If you do not recycle, electrical equipment will end up in landfill where hazardous substances will leak out and cause soil and water contamination – harming wildlife and human health.

To remind you that old electrical equipment can be recycled, electrical and electronic goods are marked with a crossed-out wheeled bin symbol. Please ensure that any electrical equipment is disposed of seperate to normal household waste.

WEEE Recycling

WEEE Recycling

What is WEEE? The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive is UK Law which aims to ensure that the producers and suppliers of electrical and electronic equipment, such as high street and internet retailers, recycle appliances correctly. An item is classed as being WEEE if it needs electricity to serve it's intended purpose, this includes equipment that uses batteries.
These include several types of domestic and commercial electricals including large WEEE such as Fridge Freezers and Washing Machines, down to small WEEE such as Toasters and Kettles.

How we are contributing towards WEEE?

In the UK, distributors of WEEE equipment including retailers must provide a system which allows all customers to recycle there old items free of charge when buying new electrical equipment. At Lunts Domestics, we have met the requirements placed on us by supporting the nationwide network of WEEE recycling centres. We achieve this through membership of the Distributor Take-Back Scheme (DTS).

For more information on WEEE recycling and to locate your nearest recycling centre please visit Recycle More.
